Sustainability statement -Climate + positive - TT Surveyors

TT Building Consultancy Limited is committed to being net-zero aligned by 2050. We will do this by aligning our Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions to the following:

We will reduce Scope 1 emissions by 100% by 2030. We will do this by working with our facilities team to minimise the use of fossil fuel for heating, then We will do this by transitioning our fleet to electric vehicles.

We will reduce Scope 2 emissions by 100% by 2030. We will do this by ensuring we are supplied by low-carbon electricity sources.

We will reduce our Scope 3 emissions by 42% by 2030 in line with the Science Based Targets initiative. We will achieve this by:

  1. We will do this by purchasing from suppliers who have strong net zero commitments that match our ambition
  2. We will do this by encouraging and supporting our employees as they transition to low-carbon modes of transport
  3. We will do this by focusing on public transport rather than individual modes of transport

We will also do this by aligning at least 80% of our supply chain to a high standard including (but not limited to) published carbon reporting and a published net zero plan.

We are continuously looking for ways to improve sustainability in everything we do.

Efficient and Clean Cooking for Households in Somalia

Description

The VPA deploys highly efficient improved cookstoves reducing woody biomass consumption for households in urban and peri-urban areas of Somalia.

This project helps families transition to BURN’s JIKOKOA, the world’s most fuel-efficient biomass stove. The JIKOKOA, reduces charcoal consumption by 64% – slowing deforestation.

Project Impact

  • No Poverty & Affordable and Clean Energy: Through the reduction in fuel required to cook, Jikokoa users save money every week, which is often reinvested in education. This project in Somalia has saved families $130 million to date.
  • Ensure Healthy Lives: The Clean Cooking Alliance estimates that smoke inhalation from cooking causes 3 million premature deaths every year. BURN’s Jikokoas has been shown to reduce indoor air pollution by 65%.
  • Decent Work and Economic Growth: All design, engineering, and manufacturing takes place in our solar-powered facilities in Kenya.
  • Climate Action: The Jikokoa lowers fuel consumption by 64%, thus limiting CO2 and non-CO2 emissions from cooking. In addition, reducing demand for biomass helps slow deforestation
  • Emission Reduction
  • Affordable and Clean Energy
