Borough Market
We have been engaged with Borough Market since 2020, providing a comprehensive range of professional services including building surveying, party wall, specification writing, project management and contract administration.
Background
Borough Market is one of the largest and oldest food markets in London, in fact its origins date back to the 12th Century. The present iconic building was built in the 1850s and reflects the Victorian gothic architecture of the period with the characteristic elaborate steel work that was popular at that time. In 1932 a new art deco style entrance was added and is still in place today. Over the years the building has witnessed many changes and modifications and as such, with this mixed heritage, requires careful maintenance.
