About the Pyramus & Thisbe Society
Originating in 1974 as an informal “club” for party wall specialists, the Pyramus & Thisbe Society evolved into a learned society in 2020. It remains the UK’s pre-eminent authority on the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, guiding members through best practices and legislative developments. Its London branch, now under Jonny’s leadership, runs a full suite of CPD events, conferences, and seminars, bringing together surveyors, engineers, architects, and solicitors.
The Society’s name draws from the classical tale of Pyramus and Thisbe—lovers who communicated through a crack in the wall dividing them—a poetic nod to the Society’s core mission of resolving party wall disputes with clarity and professionalism. Over the decades, it has grown to over 1,000 members nationwide and played a pivotal role in shaping the 1996 Act.
In short, Jonny’s new role builds on his strong foundation at Thomas & Thomas and aligns perfectly with the Society’s enduring purpose: promoting excellence in party wall understanding and neighbourly harmony.

We’re all excited to watch him lead the London branch toward fresh success.
