CHIC – The Communities & Housing Investment Consortium

CHIC is a collaborative, not for profit, member owned and governed consortium that delivers compliant procurement solutions and commercial support to its members in partnership with the supply chain. They secure savings for its members and are committed to the delivery of improved environmental outcomes and added social value through all that they do.

CHIC helps housing associations, councils and other public-sector organisations buy building-related goods and services more efficiently. For example, a housing association might need to procure:

• building repairs and maintenance
• contractors for refurbishment
• building materials and merchant services
• fire safety and compliance work
• energy-efficiency/decarbonisation projects
• new-build development services
• professional consultants
• facilities management

This four-year framework provides social landlords and other public sector organisations with a compliant and efficient route to procure a wide range of built environment and construction related professional consultancy services, supporting planned investment programmes, individual works contracts and wider asset management projects from inception through to post-completion.

Developed to help members access the specialist expertise required to deliver high quality, compliant projects on time and within budget, the framework brings together professional consultancy services across disciplines including project and contract management, architecture, building surveying, quantity surveying, engineering, fire safety, stock condition and housing and asset management.
